Dr. Heather Carr | Owner & Founder

Dr. Heather Carr is the founder and owner of One 2 One Physical Therapy. Through her years of practice and a plethora of continuing education, Heather has developed a holistic framework and approach to physical therapy. She views the human body as a complex, multi-dimensional entity comprised of physical, emotional, mental and energetic elements. These components interact with one another to form your blueprint and how you move and feel. Heather’s vision is to unify your physical elements —your movement, posture, breathing and physiology —with your mind and energy systems to facilitate whole-body healing and transformation.

In 2011 Heather opened One 2 One Physical Therapy with a vision to provide her patients with optimal personalized care. Feeling limited by the productivity pressures of traditional physical therapy clinics, Heather believed the best approach was to provide adequate time for each patient. The name of her practice was chosen to express the 1:1 nature of her sessions.

Education & Experience

Heather holds a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (University of St. Augustine, 2008); Master of Science in Physical Therapy (Boston University, 2002); and a Bachelor of Science in Health Studies (Boston University, 2000). She is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist (OCS, 2008) and holds a Certification in Manual Therapy (MTC, 2007).

Inspired by the principles of the Postural Restoration Institute (PRI), Heather became Postural Restoration Certified (PRC) in 2015. PRI provides the comprehensive foundation for Heather’s eclectic training and skills.

Fueled by her strong belief in the importance of proper nutrition in treatment, Heather completed the Nutritional Therapy Practitioner certification program through the Nutritional Therapy Association (NTA, 2015). This program uses principles of balanced, whole-food nutrition while respecting bio-individuality. To read Heather’s articles on nutrition, go to http://heathercarrdpt.com.

In 2016 Heather became certified in Biofield Tuning, a sound healing modality. Through the application of coherent sound, it is possible to facilitate improved physical function and health. Since learning this technique, Heather has done over 1000 sound treatments with exciting and, at times, incredible results.

In 2017 Heather began her work as a certified facilitator through the Phoenix Center for Regenetics. The Regenetics method is a series of energy activations that provide holistic healing. Heather has personally and professionally witnessed profound shifts in physical, mental and emotional health by incorporating Regenetics in her patients’ treatment plans.

Personal Interests

When Heather is not at the office, she can be found reading multiple books and research articles on how to improve the services offered at One 2 One. She loves playing tennis and is most passionate about spending time with her cherished, supportive and loving husband, Jan. She is eternally grateful to her One 2 One family who make it the one-of-a-kind healing entity that it is.
